Syllabus: | Under the direction of the Editor, Production Editor and other senior staff of the Perth Independent, students learn editing, sub-editing and layout and graphic manipulation skills. Students will coordinate student reporters and photographers in rounds and will need to undertake weekend and night work to ensure that the Independent is ready for publication. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Proficiency in copy-editing, picture cropping, headline writing and newspaper design and layout. Achieved a high standard of English usage. An understanding of the values that underpin editorial decision making and the power of presentation. |
