Syllabus:

Provides the opportunity for students to achieve a high level of understanding of professional practices within the fashion and textile design industry. Students will be required to investigate the application of these practices to the development of their own collection design, production and presentation.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit, students will have- An understanding of the principles and practice of research applied to design development of a body of independent research related to fashion and textile design. Knowledge and understanding of the technology and practice applied to design development, manufacturing and marketing of fashion and textiles in a contemporary market. Acquired a further range of skills that can effectively communicate design solutions through verbal, two and three-dimensional visual methods. Applied a creative approach to the use of the skills and technology required for practicing in the fashion and textile design industry. Innovative practice in preference to conventional assumptions and thinking.
