Syllabus:

Development of the foundation competencies in therapeutic use of electrical and physical agents. Safety issues, radiation heating, phototherapy, electrical stimulation and biofeedback.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit students will have - Demonstrated knowledge of Electrophysical Agents used in physiotherapy for the management of skin conditions including wounds, in evaluating sensorimotor disorders of the neuromotor system, and finally in utilising a range of electrical stimulation devices to produce physiological outcomes including sensory, motor or painful stimulation. The modules are designed around independent study, demonstration and practise, and application through a problem solving process. Developed independent skills, through a variety of learning actions, in the identification of the principal electrical currents used in the evaluation and treatment of disorders
