Syllabus:

Camera types and calibration certificates. Stereoscopic viewing and parallax. Transformation of single photo coordinates. Titled photography and rectification. Analogue and analytical stereoplotting equipment. Theory of empirical orientation. Model deformation. Mosaics and orthophotos. Radial line triangulation. Map revision. Planning aerial photography and control. Strip triangulation. Involvement of photogrammetry in Western Australian standard and project mapping.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit students will have- Understanding of the application of optical fundamentals. Extraction of information from titled photographs. Abilities to understand and operate photogrametric apparatus. Understanding error propagation and model deformation in aerial triangulation. Ability to appreciate the potential of terrestrial photogrammetry.
