Syllabus:

Includes three of the following topics each year - crop protection, wildlife management, fisheries production, environmental impact statements and food technology. Tuition is by lecture, practicals and visits to relevant organisations.
 

Unit Outcomes:

Upon completion of the unit students will have - Gained an insight into a variety of applications of biology, with particular reference to environmentally sustainable development. Had the opportunity to participate in this venture. Developed an understanding of, and point of view on, how the biologist carries out particular types of work.

Unit Assessment Breakdown:

Assignment 30%. Examination 60%., Participation 10%. There will be one assignment, worth 30% of the unit mark. Students are required to participate in a minimum of ten practical sessions. This is a grade/mark assessment.
