Syllabus:

Critically interpret numerical data and statistics. Draw graphs. Calculate mean, median, mode, range and standard deviation. Apply sequences and series to predict outcomes.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit students will have - Performed the four mathematical operations on integers, fractions, decimal numbers and percentages. Interpreted, developed and solved simple algebraic equations. Interpreted and developed graphs of linear, quadratic and exponential functions. Optimised solutions to problems using algebraic and graphical methods. Worked with arithmetic and geometric sequences and series to solve problems. Interpreted and developed graphical representations of data. Interpreted and determined measures of central tendency (mean, median, mode). Interpreted and determined measures of dispersion (range, variance, standard deviation).
