Syllabus:

Strategy development including planning and supply chain strategies. Supply organisations and structures including supply chains policies. Human resources in the supply chains policies. Human resources in the supply chain and strategic planning and control.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit students will have - Understanding of the nature of procurement as a strategic organisation approach to managing the supply chain. Developed management skills to equip them to plan, promote and implement the introduction of strategic procurement in a selected organisation. Researched and evaluated techniques required to measure supply chain activities and issues affecting an organisations local and global operations and potential.

Individual critique of a book chapter 35%, Individual Seminar on Chapter Review (with handouts) 25%, Group Paper: (two or three members only per group) 25%, Progress Report on this project Presentation 1 (5 minutes) 5%, Final Report on this project Presentation 2 (15 minutes + questions) 10%. This is by grade/mark assessment.
