Syllabus:

Protection of marketing profile by trade marks. Laws relating to the design and information on packaging. Advertising laws, laws relating to selling methods including promotional games, door to door and inertia selling, legal liability of sellers and manufacturers.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit students will have - Knowledge of the insight into what the law is and how it works. Discussed legal issues with the specialists. If they are an overseas student, knowledge of Australian law will help you understand the rules that Australian business people must work with, and thereby assist you in your dealings with them. It will also be a basis from which you can scrutinise and learn the business laws of your own country. Understanding that only some areas of law are included and those areas are explored to a limited degree only. No training in giving legal advice, but to recognise legal problems, to develop strategies to avoid legal problems arising, and, where appropriate, to make referrals to others who have expertise.
