Syllabus:

Outline of the latest developments in the use of antimicrobials to treat infectious diseases as well as giving an overview of recent developments in controlling infectious diseases with vaccines.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit students will be able to - Understand the rational for choice of antibiotics for treatment of identified infections. Demonstrate knowledge of how antibiotics must be used to aid the development of antimicrobial resistance. Demonstrate knowledge of the advantage and disadvantages of vaccination protocols.
