Syllabus:

Students will undertake a number of individually initiated projects which will enable them to develop skills in the techniques and processes of one of the following specialisations within the visual arts - clay and glass, fibre/textiles, painting, printmaking, sculpture, jewellery/three-dimensional design, interactive computer image processing, audio visual, photography. Students will develop a portfolio of work demonstrating their ability to deal with a wide range of traditional and contemporary technologies and processes within their selected specialism.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Developed an appropriate level of independent judgement, imagination and commitment to enable them to develop ideas into coherent visual forms. Developed skills in working in a specific discipline of the visual arts. The ability to realise set projects using appropriate techniques and raw materials.
