Syllabus:

Understanding the concept of 'community' and constituent issues involved and the nature of social inequality. Examining perceptions and realities of different communities and exploring how different communities have diferent needs from planning systems. Construction of logical arguments and the ability to be able to express insight and interpretation of issues in a variety of forums.
 

Unit Outcomes:

Upon completion of this unit students will have developed an understanding of the conceptions of community, social inequality, tolerance, citizenship and of well-being, poverty and class. Developed an understanding of the role of women and men in society, ageing, youth, multiculturalism and racism, Aboriginal Australia, disability and crime and safety.
