Syllabus:

Systematic instructional design. Analysing needs and learning tasks. Determining objectives and selecting content. Flexible learning. Examining instructional materials representing various levels of technological sophistication. Processes of instructional resource development. Devising and incorporating learning strategies. Supporting learners and learning processes. Influence of physical design and layout on instructional effectiveness. Evaluation and revision.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Analysed and characterised an instructional situation in terms of its learners, content and context. Described the implications of perceptual and cognitive processing capacities for the design ofinstructional materials. Used appropriate computer hardware and software as an integral part of instructional design processes. Applied instructional design processes to develop learning resources that address an identified instructional need. Evaluatedand revised draft learning resources.
