Syllabus:

Use of tensor analysis - anisotropy in seismic and electrical data. Complex variables, special functions - Bessel functions, orthogonal polynomials. Integral transforms - boundary value problems, wave equation. Inversion theory in exploration geophysics.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Been equipped with the skills in advanced mathematical techniques as used in geophysical exploration.
