Syllabus:

Potential field theory. The potential and intensity of mass and susceptibility distributions and the manipulation for prospecting. Field trips and laboratory exercises are designed to develop competence in acquisition, processing and interpretation of gravity and magnetic data.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit, students will have- With respect to the gravitational and magnetic methods- Presented the theoretical bases of the potential fields and their application to interpretation techniques. An understanding of measurement techniques and instrumentation. Experience in data collection, processing and interpretation.
