Syllabus:

Different approaches to studies of effective teaching and learning. Critiques of existing policy and practice. Efficacy of models of teaching effectiveness. Assessments of effective teaching, learning outcomes, and mediating variables. Social and individual forces in learning. Implications of research on teaching and learning in specialist fields.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit, students will have- An understanding of the main theoretical approaches to research on teaching and learning. Considered what is good research on teaching and learning. Reviewed and critiqued selected research on teaching and learning.
