Syllabus:

Focuses on the nature of educational change and change processes, through a critical examination of models and theories associated with innovation, dissemination, implementation and continuance. Emphasis is on recognised practice in the areas of implementation of innovations, through examination of strategies developed to assist the implementation processes. Examination of the role(s) and characteristics of key players in the change processes - change agents, teachers, principals and administrators
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit students will have understood the results of theoretical research into change and innovation. Explained how conditions within schools and organisations can support or impede innovation implementation. Appreciated thecomplexities of innovation implementation. Understood the practical considerations in successful innovation implementation. Evaluated a major educational innovation.
