Syllabus:

Fire prevention, warning and fire fighting systems. Environmental studies. Contaminated sites, 'green' buildings, solar energy design. Fire and materials, combustion, assessment of fire performance, resistance and fire load.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit, students will have- An appreciation of the impact of construction on the environment and how the environment shapes the nature of construction.
