Syllabus:

Environmental systems and those factors that influence health. Population demography, the political and social influences on health and sustainable development. Measuring environmental quality, human exposure, risk and health impact. Trans-boundary andglobal health concerns. Agencies involved in the management and control of environmental health including the work environment. Australian and international case studies.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit students will be able to - Discuss the principles and management of environmental health in relation to public health and the environment nationally and internationally. Describe environmental systems and those factors that influence health in communities. Identify methods for measuring environmental quality, human exposure, risk and thier health impact. Compare and contrast the political and social influences on health and sustainable development as applied to national and international settings.
