Syllabus:

Analysis and projection of business performance, assessment of credit risk in large borrowing companies, analysis of business failures, interpreting business flows, industry structure analysis, financial analysis in credit risk assessment, project finance, analysis of capital investment decisions, managing problem loans, workouts and receivership.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit students will be able to - Describe the products a financial institution may provide for its corporate and commercial clients to manage interest rate risk, liquidity risk and credit risk. Calculate examples of derivative instruments used in managing each of these risks. Explain short term and long term sources of finance available to a financial institution's corporate and commercial clients. Describe non-lending banking products targeted at a bank's corporate and commercial clients. Explain the alternatives available to banks when their corporate and commercial loans fail.
