Syllabus:

Introduction, Parties and processes in the employment relationship - the roles of the parties, conflict and negotiation, enterprise bargaining and awards, centralised to decentralised, Strategic human resource management, Human resource planning, Job analysis and design, Staff recruitment and selection, Performance management, Training and development, Career development.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Explained the concept of human resource management and the application of ideologies in the employment relationship. Discussed the importance of aligning human resource functions to organisational goals. Identified, analysed and discussed approaches and methods used by human resource staff in performing their functions. Identified, analysed and discussed key human resource issues.
