Syllabus:

An introduction students to the contemporary discourse of art at an advanced level. Students are given instruction in the use of contemporary thought in dealing with the meaning and practice of art. Students prepare a long essay based on a critique of a current piece of critical writing.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit, students will have- The ability to research, construct and critically evaluate a long essay dealing with issues in contemporary art. Achieved a high level of intellectual awareness of the debates and issues driving contemporary art.
