Syllabus:

The project is to include the surveying of a mine lease - shaft plumbing, underground check bearing using the gyro theodolite, EDM traversing, stope survey and levelling. The presented work will also include plans, sections and calculations associated with the above survey. Attendance of a project seminar is required.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Gained an appreciation of the problems a mine surveyor faces in their day-to-day work. Knowledge of how to carry and present survey work in a professional manner.
