Syllabus:

Distribution of elements within common rock units and minerals. Review of Eh and pH. Chemical mobility during weathering. Sample collection, preparation, digestion and analysis. Graphical and statistical methods of data interpretation. Database management. Survey techniques, including - stream sediments, soil, rock and miscellaneous survey types. Introduction to environmental geochemistry.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit, students will have a comprehensive understanding of the content of the syllabus sufficient to complete all practical work and assignments to the satisfaction of the unit coordinator and to achieve a pass mark in anytheory examination based on the subject matter
