Syllabus:Quantum theory of Light. The Particle Nature of Matter. Matter Waves. Quantum Mechanics in 1 Dimension. Quantum Tunnelling. Quantum Mechanics in 3 Dimensions. Atomic Structure. Molecular Structure. Quantum Statistical Mechanics.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will have gained an understanding of the principles of modern quantum mechanics, applied them to a range of problems and learnt algebraic computing techniques to solve selected problems.
