Syllabus:Principles of philosophical reasoning and the art of argument. Moral reasoning, obligations and morality, professionalism and ethics. Human rights and the international conventions. Human and animal experimentation. NH and MRC guidelines. Research and ethics, the significance of research proposals, the meaning of trivia. Ethical dilemmas.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have - Debated the principles of philosophical reasoning and the art of argument. Discussed professionalism, ethics, human rights, international conventions and ethical issues. Evaluated research and ethical issues in conjunction with NH and MRC guidelines.
