Syllabus:Introduction - scope, purpose, developments. Sedimentary basins. Regional and global stratigraphic cycles. Depositional systems and facies analysis. Data acquisition - measuring and recording surface and subsurface data. Data manipulation. Burial history. Selected case histories of sedimentary basins.
 
Unit Outcomes: On completion of this unit students will have - Understood the methods of basin analysis and their application.
