Syllabus:A critical evaluation of the Human Resources (HR) discipline. Measurement of the effectiveness of HR functions. The development of a conceptual model for measurement of HR. The contribution of HR and International Relations (IR) to organisational effectiveness.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of the unit students will have - Evaluated Human Resources Managment (HRM) and Industrial Relations (IR), and the functions of HRM and IR. Identified and discussed key human resource issues, as a value-added component of organisations. Discussed the contribution of HRM amd IR towards improving organisational effectiveness and saving money. Demonstrated how this can be done.
