Syllabus:Introduction of QuarkXpress, a graphics software publishing program. Lectures, demonstrations and studio tutorial sessions cover the fundamentals of page layout design and how to prepare these for prepress.Two-dimensional designers need to be able to design work that can be produced commercially. Covers current industry standards in graphic softward use, print research and design application. This is a component of Visual Communication Technology 291, which was compulsory for Year 2 students in the Visual Communication stream.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will have - Understood and be able to use QuarkXpress to assemble page layouts. Be able to manage typographic and graphic elements. Prepare their work for prepress.
