Syllabus:Advanced level of communication skills, professional behaviour and ability to address legal and ethical issues related to musculoskeletal physiotherapy practice. All assessments and interventions in musculoskeletal physiotherapy are based on an advanced level of clinical reasoning. In the clinical setting, perform advanced physical examination and management of the neuromusculoskeletal system for spinal and some peripheral disorders. Evaluate current research findings to determine the level of evidence for the efficacy of musculoskeletal physiotherapy practice. Supervised clinical experience in hospitals. Advanced level of documentation and report writing.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of the unit the student will have demonstrated advanced knowledge of musculoskeletal physiotherapy approaches to of assessment, clinical diagnosis and management. Demonstrated advanced levels of effective communication within the musculoskeletal physiotherapy model, including professional peers. Demonstrated professional behaviour appropriate to musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Developed an awareness of legal and ethical issues related to musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Implemented an advanced clinical reasoning framework for all aspects of assessment, clinical diagnosis and management in musculoskeletal physiotherapy practice. Demonstrated advanced competencies in the manual therapy examination, clinical diagnosis and intervention for spinal and some peripheral disorders in clinical practice. Demonstrated an advanced level of documentation and report writing related to musculoskeletal physiotherapy clinical practice. Evaluated level of evidence for the efficacy of musculoskeletal physiotherapy approaches when managing musculoskeletal disorders.
