Syllabus:Critical examination of Western Australian land development processes and their role in community formation.
 
Unit Outcomes: Upon completion of this unit the student will have developed a critical understanding of land development processes in Western Australia as they apply to the development of new and existing urban land. Examined the issues of community formation, the relationship between urban land development strategies and policies and built form; the role and views of key stakeholders in community formation, the integration/lack of integration in the land development process and the role of project management in integrating land development. Examined theoretical perspectives of the land development process including different approaches to achieving social, economic and environmental sustainability and will have examined case studies of land development in metropolitanand rural Western Australia in the context of sustainability.
