Syllabus:The philosophy of evidence based practice is examined in details with examples from sources such as the PEDRO and Cochrane Collaboration databases. Necessary practical skills are developed in identifying, acquiring, evaluating and using evidence. Clinical decision making skills are developed through the appropriate use of statistical analysis which includes examination of various forms of statistical testing. Case presentations are used to integrate student learning.
 
Unit Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this unit students will have - Developed an in depth knowledge of the nature and operation of clinical reasoning and the philosophy of evidence based practice. Gained the necessary skills in identifying, aquiring, evaluating, gathering evidence and integrating it into the clinical reasoning process.
