Syllabus:Clinical reasoning in the assessment and treatment of client mobility. Surface anatomy, assessment and maintenance of joint and muscle range of movement, assessment of muscle strength and exercise progression, assessment and treatment of posture, patient mobility and the use of walking aids.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this course students will have - Described the process of an efficient physical examination that addresses the presenting impairments in the context of the activity limitation imposed by the client's condition and functional environment. Applied a knowledge of surface anatomy, anatomy to the assessment and maintenance of muscle and joint range of motion and muscle strength. Described a framework for the development of an integrated exercise program. Evaluated standing and sitting postures and described common variations from normal posture and movement. Selected appropriate walking aids to compensate for limited impairments to enable a client to be mobile in functional activities.
