Syllabus:Research relating to teachers competence in mathematics indicates a need to enhance the confidence and competence in teachers mathematical abilities. Supports those who, while having a TEE mathematics score, feel 'weak' in the mathematics required for teaching in the primary school setting. May be a requirement upon failure of the initial basic mathematics test.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will have- Developed competency in using mathematics appropriate to the requirements for modern primary teaching. Confidence in their ability to recognise and use mathematics in everyday problem solving skills. Positive self esteem and attitude to mathematics.
