Syllabus:Advanced practice role and responsibilities in delivery of primary health care at community level, philosophy and principles of primary health care and public health, epidemiology, action research, reflexive analysis, planning, implementation and evaluation of effective primary health care programs, environmental health, community assessment, program planning and theory of community development.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will have - Analysed the philosophy and principles of primary health care and its application to nursing practice. Critically analysed factors that influence the effectiveness of primary health care programs. Applied the principles of action research and epidemiological methods to community health care provision. Conducted, documented and analysed a comprehensive community assessment. Developed a primary health care program based on identified community needs.
