Syllabus:Introductory business concepts that provide preparation for success in a tertiary education environment. Introduction to business environment, understanding the business of managing, understanding people in organisations, understanding principles of marketing, managing operations and information and understanding financial issues.
 
Unit Outcomes: Upon completion of the unit, the students will be able to - Understand the basic concepts and theories in business operation. Comprehend some of the key concepts in management theories, in particular management of people. Identify problems in particular situations and suggest possible solutions through case studies and classroom discussions. Locate information from a variety of sources related to a particular topic or problem. Express their ideas and opinions in classroom discussion and contribute positively to group activities. Develop an integrated approach to commercial studies together with other foundation commercial units.
