Syllabus:Sustainable industry through Cleaner Production and Eco-Efficiency. Generic Eco-Efficiency principles and Cleaner Production practices and methods. Impacts on productivity and profitability. Historic development of Cleaner Production, Eco-Efficiency and related preventive environmental management concepts in different parts of the world. Principles and examples of Life Cycle Design/Design for the Environment. Environmental management systems and standards (ISO 14001). Students are to attend a 3 hour lecture once every three weeks.
 
Unit Outcomes: Become acquainted with the concepts of Cleaner Production and Eco - Efficiency, their application for production processes, products, services, and their implications for (environmental) management systems, Understood the general principles underlying Cleaner Production practices and technologies. They will also have an appreciation of the environmental and economic benefits of Cleaner Production and Eco - Efficiency.
