Syllabus:The past through example. Unix Operating System. Shells. Regular Expressions. Unix File System. Managing a Unix system. Perl. System Calls. CGI Bin Programming.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will gain an understanding of systems programming with special emphasis on becoming more productive in a Unix environment. Students will also gain an understanding of system maintenance, CGI-bin programming and the systems programming language Perl.
