Syllabus:Analysing and prescribing the prospect for peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific Region through a number of specific issue oriented studies. Issues covered include multilateralism versus regionalism, modernism versus ecopessimism, globalism versus cultural imperialism, human rights versus state rights, techno-globalism versus techno-nationalism and traditionalism versus feminism.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will - Understand the meaning of and identify description, explanation and prescription in the analysis of local, regional and global problems in the Asia Pacific Region. Contrast and compare different worldviews in understanding the causes of those problems and the conduct of policy making in international relations and think globally and to articulate a personal position in your role as an educated and competent citizen.
