Syllabus:Examination of the most significant challenges to world security in the post Cold War era, threats and capacities, great powers and their role in global security, regional security, causes of internal conflict, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, role of the United Nations, economic environmental and demographic challenges and international crime.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will have - A comprehensive understanding of major aspects of security studies. Be familiar with main challenges to world security in the new millenium. An ability to forecast possible future changes in theglobal and regional security environment. Gained an awareness of the major schools of though in security studies.
