Syllabus:The impact and implications of technological convergence and new media technologies on journalism as both a profession and an institution. Looking at the context and broader socio-political implications of these new media technologies.
 
Unit Outcomes: On completion of this unit, students will be able to - Have a basic understanding of the major issues confronting media practitioners and managers in the everyday media and communication environments in the era of technological convergences and new media. Have a basic understanding of how these new media technologies are impacting on political, cultural and professional practices. Critically deconstruct the myth of the new in the discussions of the new media in the age of satellite and the Internet.
