Syllabus:Students either plan and carry out preliminary research, formulate and implement a community development initiative or carry out an evaluation of an existing project in their local environment. The use of quantitative or a qualitative method or a combination of both in the presentation of a report on the project.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Demonstrated an ability to utilise appropriate methodologies in conducting a small research or evaluative project. Gained a practical awareness of the applicability of various research processes in community and social development. Presented and discussed findings in the context of a diversity of audiences and stakeholders.
