Syllabus:Development of analytic skills required to critically examine and evaluate learning and teaching programs, curricula or other school programs. Familiarity with the procedures and convention of basic educational research. Application of research skills within an educational setting to effect improvement or student learning, instructional practices, curriculum provision or school organisation.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Identified an area of school activity worth investigating as the topic of a small research project. Conducted a search of library resources to locate pertinent literature and previous research onthe topic. Organised the findings of the literature search and prepare a written review of the literature pertinent to the chosen topic. Designed a small research project to investigate a question or issue concerning the chosen topic. Executed the small project to provide data to answer the research question. Produced a report on the design, execution and outcomes of the research project.
