Syllabus:Principles of design, improvements versus innovation, design processes, human factors (designing for different types of users), usability, user requirements, designing and testing forms, reports, help, error systems and navigation, enhancing interfaces with graphics and images, video and sound, interface development environments and interaction devices.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will - Have an understanding of basic design principles as applied to a user interface. Be able to determine the criteria for testing and evaluating interface design. Be able to design and test human computer interfaces.
