Syllabus:An understanding of group design, process and development in relation to self-help groups and psycho-educational groups. Experience of a self-help group, and group leader. Needs analysis in community group settings and develop an awareness of cross-cultural issues in group work.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will - Have had direct experience of self-help groups. Had an opportunity to be a group co-leader. Have critically reflected on their group co-leadership skills. Have developed understandings of design, process and development relative to self-help groups, psycho-educational groups and community groups. Have developed an awareness of cross-cultural issues in group work.
