Syllabus:Designed from a commercial perspective, focuses on the following industries - cement and lime, salt-soda ash-chlorine cycle, iron and steel, phosphate and fertilisers, refractory minerals, alumina, chemicals and construction. There will be an emphasis onunderstanding how technologies are implemented and their effect on costs.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have- an understanding of the occurrence and properties of industrial minerals and the economics of industrial mineral mining operations.
