Syllabus:Interview techniques, health history, nursing documentation. Physical assessment skills using system, body segment approaches. Adaptation of the health history and physical assessment to suit a particular client population. Use of inspection, auscultation, palpation and percussion techniques. Recording of findings.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will be able to - Competently take and document a client's health history. Adapt the history and physical assessment to suit a particular client population (newborn - elderly). Perform an integrated physicalassessment of an adult client. Identify normal findings and deviations requiring referral. Document assessment findings and write nursing diagnoses.
