Syllabus:Global and specific learning disorders and psychosocial adjustment disorders in childhood and adolescence. Family systems. Application of theory to design and evaluation of intervention programs, community and significant other contexts. Impact of disorders on participation in activities of childhood and adolescence.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will be able to - Critically evaluate current research findings in child and adolescent psychosocial and learning disorders, both global and specific. Examine the relationship between the family system and children and adolescents with adjustment and learning disorders and explain the implication for management in a given context. Evaluate the impact of adjustment and learning disorders on participation and activity in childhood and adolescence, both currentand continuous. Select and justify the use of appropriate assessments in working with children and adolescents with psychosocial and learning disorders. Apply appropriate theoretical models in designing and evaluating appropriate interventions for children and adolescents with learning and or psychosocial adjustment disorders.
