Syllabus:Continuation of the management processes for analysing agribusiness systems. Planning for the agribusiness, while continuing the processes of implementation, monitoring and control. Selected topics include physical and strategic planning and budgeting, investment appraisal, strategic risk management, advanced production economics and logistics.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will have - Demonstrated the ability to analyse businesses. Demonstrated appropriate knowledge and understanding of the principles learnt in the subject on topics that include - Principle of physical and strategic planning and budgeting. Analysing and assessing decisions under risk and uncertainty. Strategies and tactics for handling risk and uncertainty. Leasing and investment in land and other capital resources. Whole production business planning for change. Budgeting for change. Systems for control. Integrate technical, economic and marketing information to analyse problems and performance of horticulture or aquaculture enterprises and suggest appropriate solutions. Prepare reports that constructively andcompetently analyse management of a farm business and analyse alternative changes to the horticulture or aquaculture production units. Prepare a competent business plan for the horticulture or aquaculture business. Demonstrate the ability to develop and apply simple but effective Excel spreadsheets for the analyses required for the unit.
