Syllabus:Introduction to organisational systems and structures. Organisational puposes and policies in relation to own work. External and internal factors affecting organisations. Introductory concepts of policy and policy development, policies which impact on own work area, relevant internal and external policy making groups.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Identified key policies which affect, or are affected by, their own work. Described own position and management role in organisational or work contexts. Described the main internal features and external factors affecting their own organisation. Understood introductory concepts about policy and outline the relevance to their own work and community settings. Identified relevant policy making groups and individuals in their own work or community context.
