Syllabus:Flowsheet mass balances, phase rule and process equilibria. Process modelling using thermodynamics, sulphide smelting - copper flash furnace model, blast furnace model.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have- An understanding of flowsheeting and modelling techniques as applied to pyrometallurgy.
